Misty morning doesn’t put off parkrunners

The misty morning on Saturday, March 4th, didn’t put off 82 runners and 26 volunteers from celebrating the 200th parkrun to be held in Shildon’s Hackworth Park.

The run, which take place at 9am every Saturday morning, was this week started by Shildon’s Mayor Cllr Trish Pemberton.

The special event welcomed 26 first time parkrunners to Shildon.

An organiser said: “The parkrun is a great way of getting and staying fit and the volunteers and runners are always welcoming and keen to support new participants.

“Next Saturday, March 11th, will be the 4th anniversary of Hackworth parkrun. Please come along and celebrate from 9am as always.”

There are also plans underway to start a Junior parkrun at Hackworth Park for children aged 4-14 years and will be held on a Sunday morning.
