Shildon FOL sink Chelsea

Sunderland AFC FOL Shildon took on the might of Chelsea FC Foundation MW Reserves in the NYFL (National Football Youth League) League Cup 2017/18 at Dean Street on Wednesday 15th November and put the youth side of the Premier League champions to the sword, recording an emphatic 5-1 win to march into the next round of the national cup competition.

Shildon captain, Lewis King was celebrating more good news later in the week with the announcement that he has been offered a contract at Burnley Football Club.

The Foundation of Light side will be playing more home games at Dean Street as the season progresses, with West Bromwich Albion’s under 19s the next side due to visit the ground for a National Football Youth League match on Wednesday 13th December, kicking off at 1.30pm.

That will be followed in the new year by the visits of Birmingham, Burnley and Coventry City.
